Trying out the blogger app on my phone. This is nice. Oh, how our technology has advanced. Funny how in the future we'll have even better advances than this. Unless the apocalypse happens. Hope not though. *fingers crossed*
The ingenuity of sharing your thoughts online far surpasses the diary today. But can it be hidden from your parents?

Return of the Whale Rider. Ooo!
Currently listening to "Road to Joy" whilst writing this post. I guess that sentence doesn't have a concrete verb--curse you, English major! I figured out how to put my whale picture back up on the blog. Many courteous thank yous to Abel Mason Perry for photoshopping me. I should have closed my fist so that it looks better as I hold the whale tack. I'm not sure if that's the right term since not many ride whales. I got that term from a horse tack...you know?...like horse equipments? Ha! Me neither. I had to google that--welcome to the future, where google is a verb.
Gearing towards the last two weeks of school--then it's Christmas season! YAY! Man, even just taking two classes at the U drains me of all motivation to do anything. I can't imagine how all the higher-ups are doing--them kids and their 5000+ level classes. I can't wait for these two weeks to be over. I have, so far, a paper due for ENG 3600 about Irigaray's essay which demystifies conventional views of sexuality--there I go again, incorporating my awkward writing--and a paper in my ENG 3701 about ekphrasis: in which I'll interpret Saussure's theory of the sign and also the work of Sir Thomas More (Utopia). If you're confused, imagine writing the paper. I have decided that a majority of the times, when I write a paper, I learn about the reading material as I write. I'm sure it's one of the reasons why papers are written--that and how much you've payed attention--but I feel like I didn't do my reading at all. *cough* Here's to the last two weeks of my first semester at the U! My obstacle before Christmas. To Garrett: Let's just pass...fffuck.
Christmas is coming up! Did I mention that? Well, Christmas is coming up. Aren't we excited? Yes. Yes, we are. I am prepared for the mistake I'll make by having to pay interest on my credit card this year, but I am planning on at least getting all the ones I love something little for Christmas. Ideas circulate *run list of gifts and people through my head* and the hunt begins! For all my friends who like to smoke [tobacco], should I just get them that? I mean I would have to meet up with a [tobacco store] and do sketchy business in a dark [grocery aisle] and that kind of scares me. Just don't buy shit from [Andreas]...that one was intentional. You can insert whatever name you'd like if you want. "Hhhhere's an eighth."
As an early Christmas present to myself, I have been making some deals on the kidrobot forums--which is starting to get addicting. At least it is cheaper to buy them from decent people at a fair price than to continue searching blind boxes and get doubles, which I can trade on the forums as well--thank you, kid in Cali. Exciting. Also, looking forward to weighing blind boxes at work tomorrow. What up, Chris.
I can't look back and see how many mistakes I have made. The passive and the comma splices are going to haunt me. They are meshing with my idiosyncratic speech. I can either get better or censor myself.
Welcome back, Whale Rider. Good Luck, Finals week. Merry, Christmas.

Letters to the past.
Dear Mason, circa 1997,
I apologize for calling "second first." I was childish and aimed to be cool and hip with the young crowd. In my defense, I blame Andrew Park--that conniving son of a bitch--him and his mule of plans to destroy our friendship; I say "NAY!" to his false ways and have finally come collected these many years to understand my mistakes. I do this in hopes that we can shake hands and forget what had happened that day. But, in all sincerity, I have forgotten much of what happened that day--possibly because of the many years' gap. Also, apologies to Andrew Park, he may not be a son of a bitch, but may have grown to be a fine latter day saint--or a conniving one--to that I am uncertain. But, I digress once more. Cheers, young/present Mason. For we have these days ahead of us to gossip and wallop about our young adversaries.
Your chap,
Jonathan Do

Our mind can control our narrative.
I have been watching a little bit of Waking Life when the ability to create is in our mind was discussed. Crazy idea how there is a vast media of story telling where many prefer a visual, say movies and such, but then there are some that believe literature is better. With movies we already have the one eye and how we see this story as it is or as someone else had imagined before but had created a visual. However, when we write something or start a story by saying something like "A witch runs into a knight" we can make something up in what can be like our own free will in our minds. Right off the back, we can even render this ambiguously: a witch runs into AND KNOCK HEADS WITH a knight, or to confront. In our minds, it is flexible, tangible, and even lucid. It is not until we put it to a visual for everyone to see the same thing that it is stripped of it's power; the full effect of story-telling becomes less affective. I am not saying that movies aren't amazing or great, but just that we as a society don't realize the potential and power of our minds. There were times when movies were people recollecting stories of the past from one generation to another. In our minds, we are able to create a vast pane of imagery where we can size-up, change, or color whatever we chose.
This got me to thinking, what if as a series of "paintings," you put a few words in a frame and let the mind paint whatever it likes? It could be part of an exhibit that focuses on the mind. I am sure this has been done--perhaps--but the idea of it is still fascinating to me. I here then leave a few "paintings" for you. What images go through your mind when you read these? Enjoy.

Lets shake hands!
In future posts--if I ever take a long time to add another message--I am NOT going to address every post with "I know I haven't posted anything in a while." But for now, I know I haven't posted anything in a long time. Hell, I don't think anyone even gets on here anymore. The only person who really reads this anymore is Kara, and that has done some troubles. *Hahaha* I kid I kid, but truth. Is it grammatically right to add asterisks to a laugh? Am I a grammarian now? A Linguist wouldn't give a shit. Let us be Linguists today then, shall we? My velum no likes the way me glottis works.
Is it just me or does blogger suck on account that I cannot change the primary email of my log in? Seeing how Blogger is associated with Google, I was told that a gmail account cannot be used as a primary log in, and why is that? Has the migration of account to servers done nothing for you? Why must I log out of my gmail account every time I am on blogger--seeing as I am on blogger all the time. *cough* If anyone can prove me wrong on my failed endeavor, then feel free to do so. Anyone listening out there? Hello? World? Alright I'm gonna get naked and shower now..........................................aaaannnddd the inside humor continues. Correction: lets be Brits, and rephrase: aaannnddd the inside humour continues. Most excellent indeed. What's that you say? The correction of my grammatical mistakes of the interpretation of BRITISH people--pardon my American tongue--is incorrect by your standards. My apologies, sires and madams, but we are merely Linguists today! *hahahaha* *Smokes pipe*
Anyways, it seems to me that I always end up typing on here out of frustration. In which I stand corrected when my Professor told me--in his knowledgeable-monotonous voice (it works but the two counteract one another)--that writing is best when invoked with rage, frustration, and grief, which leads me to agree that writing well can be the best revenge.
As for a usual, let's add a picture that will confuse and amaze. Thank you and good night.

With wealth & fame comes uneasiness.
Kurt Cobain was there & had perfect aim.
I could easily do the same,
But my pockets are empty & I'm nameless
...Plus, I don't own a shot gun.

Yup, an old man hit me as I was clearing an intersection. I think out of fear, and at that point, shaken from the whole fiasco, I didn't talk to the officer much in which he agreed that I [Jonathan Do] had the right of way. I do believe I was right, the light turned red as I looked up and you know how my manual skills are in 1st gear so I was prolly in the intersection for 2 seconds or so before moving. Evidence that could possibly, if not most likely, prove me right is that: 1) 2 seconds in the intersection. 2) There had been a truck stopped at the line on the opposite side of the road, in which secured my thoughts of "Yes, I can clear it now" 3) the intersection wasn't big seeing how the only lanes able to turn was mine because headed north bound would have been an off ramp. 4) To coincide with #3, the old man wasn't going too fast, giving him time to stop. And 5) He hit my rear passenger side showing yeah he ran a red. Now, let's see, I got hit March 9th. I had to go to a pre-trial, in which all that happened was "Tell us what you're doing. Do you want to pay the ticket now?" kind of deal. I set a bench trial for June 17th. I get a letter in the mail recently that my bench trial, as it may have been rescheduled, is not on September 13th. I was hoping to get this over with. Justice shit really takes a long time. I should just pay the damn $90 and get it over with but then my insurance would go up. Now, I'm not pissed about the ticket because of the old man and I have no intentions of getting him in trouble, but the damned officer did not know what the fuck he was doing. For Christ sake [Sorry, JC], he had me sign with a highlighter. I hope it'll be over soon.
Okay, now to what I was originally here for. So, for my final project in photo I picked the theme Portraiture. I've always meant to post them up just for fun and for people to see them and such because, let's face it, they're pretty nigh. Nigh as in nice, not near.
Damn English folk. As I post these, I hope that Blogger doesn't have the same damned policy shit as Facebook. I hear that Facebook is able to take any of the photos you upload and use/sell them to their own benefit. Yeah, way to put that in the small print and benefit off someone else's work. They're prolly making lots of money off it. "Yeah, maybe. But at least I won't be unoriginal." Name that movie. Anywhoo, it was fun to finally get our Mason project underway. All that's left is to get a big sized print for above your fireplace. I also need a photo printer too. Yes, NEED not WANT. I'm looking at you, Mason. Communal Photo Printer? Oh, and kids can be great tattoo artists. Until, one draws a Penis Tiger.

Mustached Men, Minus Mason...

So, for my photo assignment on a modern photographer, I picked Autumn de Wilde, who is known for her photos of such famous artists as Elliott Smith, Death Cab for Cutie, The White Stripes, Fiona Apple, and Beck to name a few. Wow, and already I'm choppy on my writing. Tsk' Tsk'. But I just wrote a 5 page essay on Twelfth Night, or What You Will. I've Accomplished my writing for the day. What? You say a good writer has always, gots to be on the ball? I'm sorry, is the pope supposed to be a bunny? Need I remind you that I [nor any of the other fellas] have been on blogger, typed on blogger, or posted 10 top listers [I'm even messing that up] in a very long time. Let me get back in the flow. In the meantime, enjoy that photo above. It's somewhat a retrospect to some Elliott Smith pictures of him with electrical taped mustaches. Thanks to Alex for putting it together in Photoshop, Mason for resizing, revamping, whatever, and to me for putting an awesome name on the picture. Alex's ColonBine was a close second...there were only two names. Oh and here are mustached men a capella-ing Kakariko village.

Winter Picnic!
Maybe I got the idea after writing an unrequited song about Julia Nunes, pretty lame. Hey, I was 19 and that...was a long time ago. Now, after my coming of manhood, age 20 *cough* almost 21, I've realized that my silly dreams of writing cliche songs to an internet, ukulele, playing, girl won't get me anywhere. Plus it was just a fantasy, and we've all been there right? Princess Leia, Amy Adams, Draybabe aka Mrs. Draper (My Clothing Teacher). I better stop here or I'm gonna start rethinking my relationship (almost typed relationshup which would be awesome and something someone dating Mason could say [He better trademark that shit]), with Kara. I kid I kid!Anywhoo, to
I wonder what other silly adventures we'll go on in the future?

End of the semester. End of the year. Death to funny looking, internet nerds.
Calling all updates!!! What a couple of months. This semester is over and already I'm signed up for the next. So, basically, you're all done with finals and relieved with school only to find that you're about to go through the same thing in a few weeks. The life of a college student is hectic, but somehow you gotta learn. The last three years have become vague or blocked with it's ups and downs and I feel like I've wasted that time with no direction or path to follow. Although, my eyes are open and seeing in all directions rather than simple straight into a narrow path. I fear for the world yet you get a hint of understanding of people and how life will still go on even as you mope in a corner. Someone dear to me once said, "You can't live your whole life being sad." Obviously you can't dwell upon one thing, you got to live a little and enjoy the little things in life, or you will end up with another week in hell.
In a happier note, though I'm saddened that it's over, IRC this session was a blast. I always looked forward to my Tuesdays and Thursdays, being able to help the kids and watch as friendships grow between the mentors and the children always warms the heart. Every second there you either help the kids understand the culture here in America and teach them simple things like telling time, or we would be having fun running around the library, playing on the elevators, or even going out to the movies as part of the things we can do for entertainment. This semester's kids will be missed dearly and I sound pedophile-like when I say I wanna steal the kids they're so adorable, but I'll hold myself back. Or have Taylor, Haley, and Kara do that for me. Yes, it'll take three people to do that.

In a sad but more stickin' it to the man note, recently my sister got the great idea of getting teeth whitening stuff for about $2.45. The product was APP-A-RENT-LY a "Trial" and if not returned by the 30 day trial would charge you up the ass. A day before the product was supposed to be back in their warehouse, they decide to take [estimated] $85 from me. They prolly waited till the last minute to charge me thinking I won't spend the money to have it be sent back overnight. And shit were they right. This charge, unauthorized by me nor was it stated in their policy, gave me an overdrawn fee which put me -$30 in my checkings. I filed a dispute, had my card and pin changed and, baby, got my money back. I was scared that I would've lost my money there and I'd have to spit in a condom and send dirty pictures of me using other teeth whitening products, kinda like in Overnight Delivery but with teeth whitening. Oh, a young, brunette, Reese Whitherspoon. Hey, SmileBright...suck it! *Attempts The Champ's dance, once more.*
Post script: whatever happen to Sexman aka Pruane2Forever? I haven't been seeing him rate movies on Filmdrunk anymore. Has he grown up, grew some side burns, and looks crazy ridiculous for internet standards? But isn't the internet full of weird looking people? Even I look like I have a double chin or fat folding over under my cheeks. Yeah, you know it's sexy.

Pre-Thanksgiving '09!
Around this time last year was when I actually met Matt and Carla. Oh, the joyous memories of sneaky ninja attacks with a slap on bracelet and someone not making it to Logan with pumpkin pies. Well, we're even now.
Ellie cooked the Turkey and set up cute little name tags for all of us and they even had cute, little personal notes in them. For those of you who were there, what did yours say? Just curious? Fine, I'll just keep mine a secret then. It was pretty dirty...And now images are popping in your head. The Pumpkin pies didn't cook that well this year. Sorry, Jake. I blame the cooling time? And the cooling time was off. AND THE COOLING TIME WAS OFF! So, Jake put his hands up! Something, something. Nodding his head like Yeah, Moving his hips like Yeah? I'm so very thankful for my friends, of the many things I'm thankful for. Without them in my life, I'm bound to have been elsewhere, prolly miserable and finding other means of escapism. My hats off to you, kisses around the table, and personal jobs to my closest. To the Queen, we applaud thee and owe you so much. Much Love.

I've been meaning to post so many pictures lately of just fun things that have been going on in the past month. Some of the pictures are pretty random and/or just for our enjoyment, you know who you are. The fellas and I have found Winco, and ever so often we'll head there for our grocery needs. I mean you can't beat the price of .98 cent boxes of Batman fruitsnacks. Who am I kidding? The place is the shit! List of just a few things I've gotten there: Fruit snacks [for our IRC carpooler's], Pie, Corn Dogs, Apples, Cereal, and the list keeps going. Mason got some Chimichangs (Chimichangas) that were amazing! But it's the prolly the jalapenos talking. I didn't even notice but apparently we were in the Asian foods section when I took this. Not that we've been doing it often or anything, but do I hear a top 10 lister of "best of things bought at Winco"?Oh hey! Our buddy Mark got married to Cassie, that cutie. Took some photos, which reminds me...Next time I think about jumping on a ledge to snap a better photo, I should make sure the ledge is not wet before doing so. Wet ledge=twisted ankle+camera's safety. They're okay! Nothing a little time didn't fix? But what's time but man's way of controlling the world? I say that a lot and it'll never make sense to many people. Well? I'm not a philosopher. Just a wannabe Editor/English Professor [Who needs some improving, obviously.] and photographer. Suck it world! Everything's coming up Doozy! *Puts Thumbs up in awesome still-pose* It's better than the stereotypical peace sign. COME ON!

One Month of School To Go...Loving IRC
I noticed that in my recent posts that I was very bracket happy. But in my defense, grammar [was not] at fault. Yay English humor! *Puts hand up* Anyone? Anyone? Saxophone. I, most likely, am using them wrong majority of the times and almost all my posts have some terrible sentences. I say "majority" and "almost" because I gotta give myself some credit for making things easy on the eyes, and the brain...sometimes the heart. Awww...
Well, after reading Taylor's Blog, I noticed that I have some pictures from IRC that I would like to share. It has been really fun and at times I feel like stealing the children away, I could say kidnapping but that's a pretty harsh word. Adorable kids? Yes. Pedophile like? Maybe. Will I go on with the plan? No. They have families to go home to and I my masculinity. *Looks in mirror, flexes, and winks at self*.......Who am I kidding though? I can be the most childish person in the world and these arms aren't able to carry nothin', not even my dignity. *Hangs head in shame* This week's new use of Typography, Asterisks! *Applause*
At IRC last week, we taught the kids about time. The little clocks, thanks to Ellie, Kara, and Haley, were a big help. It really helped the kids a lot with where the little and big hands would point to. After giving them the basics, we went on a little scavenger hunt around the library, which quickly became elevator rides. Somehow, that day just stuck out most this session. There are more days to come. But just seeing how happy the kids were and how you could be sucked right into the fun like you yourself were 5 again took you back to how simple things like screaming, jumping, and elevator rides can be the most fun you can have.
Well, anyways, here are some pictures I took at the zoo a couple weeks back.
*Applause*

Andy Hull would [Maybe] enjoy this!
Name the band! If correct, you can have this...well you'd have to find it first. Thank you Garrett for letting me write one this Benjamin that his mother gave him. I actually did this a while ago and the bill is long gone now. I wonder where it is? If anyone ever gets a $100 bill, can I write on it? Please?

Let's Catch Up...Shall We? I've Got Candeeee
Fuck (unnecessary, trust me) where to begin? I've been busy busy busy with school. Well, more so pretty lazy than anything. My hair is growing long to the point where it either gets in the way or decides to puncture my retina, proclaiming I look like "High school-emo Jon and how this length suites a younger, more ambitious, nerd and/or skater."
Anywhoo, school has been good so far. Minus that week where I was cursed with bad luck and started drifting into a stage of panic with school [and the unforeseen cancellation of Brand new and Manchester Orchestra]. So far, in Children's Literature, I haven't read two books but recently have been on track with the recent readings. I couldn't believe I can finish a book in less than a day but I did, AND payed attention while doing so. I'm really enjoying this reading business and think I'll either take up a book club or take more classes where we will discuss novels and literature, I may seem uneducated in these topics (or any topic as many who have taken classes with me have known) but I am down with listening to other's opinions. I'm sure the movie is great but if anyone is interested, read Bridge to Terabithia. It's a good quick read having it be a "Young Adult" novel.
Photo has been great! I love Whitney! *High fives to Alex and Garrett* And I've been having fun in the lab and out on the Photo Adventures. I like some of the photo's I've taken, though my Minolta x-9 is no help at all. You think Forster's would have fixed the damned thing by now but I guess they're just fuckin' with me and now it's taking forever but I'll be patient with Abel's film camera for now. Just hope Forster's doesn't charge me any additional costs from their $80+ they've taken from my family. You happy, Forster's? There are some pictures I can brag about more than others, but only from MY batch of photos. There are many who just got the eyes talent for capturing souls or, as Whitney would say, "Painting with light." Maybe I'm just infatuated with rain or umbrellas or Kara but I don't know. Short lived? Maybe. But that's only because I'll take better pictures of people one day, hopefully, so watch out world! Your soul is mine! What movie did you just think about? Cheesy. Lame. MK.
I've started Oil Painting, every Friday. The damn class is 11-4 and it's hard to get yourself to class without thinking "Oh, it's gonna be another looong day of class." But most times you lose track and develop some skills. In which case, lately, it's been frustrating and difficult to paint like many of the kids in my class. Complain much, Jon? Well, I've been doing it this whole blog so you can either stop reading or hold my hand. I'm getting some decent ideas for paintings and am excited to execute these so ideas. It'll be tough and WILL take a lot of patience but I'm hoping I can do this and not half-ass it like all the many things I do in my life.
Oh my, I came on here thinking I'll only post this picture but rather I ended up typing up my life story in three paragraphs. You're welcome. So my mail man, who is NOT Papa Lance, likes to deliver my vinyls like this. Guess he thinks it's pretty convenient that he has rubber-bands in his little mail cart, but what's a few steps to my porch? I'm just afraid people will take my packages [mer]. I'm sure he is pretty busy though and has to stay en-route and get home to his little mail family, I forgive you. But it does kinda look tacky in some ways. What would Papa Lance do?
As Taylor, and most of the boys, would think, I'm crazy with my vinyl toys. And over the month I bought a full pack. A whole case of 25 that cost me $186. I myself think I'm crazy but it was all worth it to get Thomas Han's and Luke Chueh's Dunny. The many other artists were great also but people, they're some of my favorite modern artists so just give me my moment and TOYS!!!
I can't stop listening to Anathallo, for many reasons really, but do your ears a favor and take a good listen. You'll be glad you did...unless you don't appreciate good music? Everyone has their own opinions I guess.
